Good Article.
in 64bit Windows 7 and Chrome setups,
in the Registry, instead of at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\Extensions,
extensions are listed at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Google\Chrome\Extensions

Cleanup worked fine; Live Player 3.2 extension is gone; but I haven't yet restarted

in order to find
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions
One may need to enable viewing Hidden Files in Explorer.
In the Explorer Menu go to Tools/Folder Options/View/Hidden Files and Folders and click the radio button "Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives"
