Hello sabasnet,
I guess that the problem is due to the ram.
You got only 1 GB ram. I have same experience with you. I install windows 7 on my ASUS laptop with 2GB ram, that fraustred me a lot.
Computer become very slow. No program can help to improve.
After I change to windows XP, it becomes better.

hmmmmm looks like you guys have the same problem as my mom.... i recommend you get some hardcore cleaning utilities like Ccleaner (use with precaution), delete restore points except the first one, do a daily cleanup with glary utilities or advanced system care 5 note that system care 5 has smart ram.. use it... it really sped up my computer.... all these found by experience try it :)

Windows 7 system requirements 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

Hi sabasnetI

Netbook's of this kind have this problem at (GB) RAM there is not much left to run the application programs in windows so they are under powered, and the more you put on the slower it will get.

Uninstall everything you don't need.
use C cleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/update?v=3.16.1666&l=1033
under tools start up turn off everything that you don't need to start up

Use bleachbit to clean up as much crap as possible http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/download/file?file=BleachBit-0.9.1-setup.exe

Defrag the system

Use programs with as little ram usage as possible

Ivy has a point no program can solve the problem but the above method might help ,

hi open run>type in msconfig>in msconfig window go to startup tab>untick all programs that u dont want to run on startup>untick them and click apply and click OK>reboot and see if this decreases the boot time.

It was possible you might have tons of system restore points slowing down the system ?
do you install and uninstall a lot of software?
