My pc is infected!!

Postby Amil » 2012-01-21 2:16

My pc infected through usb drive. Asd detected and removed one but not others. Other antivirus Kaspersky detected 7 and it asked to reboot to completily remove the malwares but after restart Kaspersky is not working and it keep asking for enable protection , looks like kaspersky is effec ted by malwares and a full scan from ASD didnt detect anything. Is my pc still infected ?. And how to get rid of this?

Hi Amil
Some malware can turn off or mess with Kaspersky so here is what you should do
Download and install then scan with

hitman pro use 30 trial
http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads
Then
malware bytes free
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

To remove any leftover malware

Then uninstall Kaspersky with Revo uninstaller run C cleaner. run C cleaner reg scan

Revo free
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

C cleaner free
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

then re install Kaspersky if you want to keep it .. if not replace it with something else ...

hold on possibly those infections were false positives and you deleted vital files. im not there with your computer so hard to say in general that you were infected or your still infected even after cleaning. but i have seen this happen time and time again you also have bad registry keys left over from install and reinstalling kaspersky, and possibly other applications as well. It sounds to me like you like to try stuff out and then uninstall software and then reinstall it. need to stop doing that you will tank your Operating system. and brick your harddrive. use these tools follow instructions. find protection your comfortible with kaspersky is very reliable. for your own good quit experimenting setup your applications and leave it alone . here are links please read slowly and use the instructions.http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279463 and a good freeware APP REMOVER, http://www.appremover.com/ HERE IS LIST OF SUPPORTED SOFTWARE FOR THAT.http://www.appremover.com/supported-applications

Emisoft with Online Armor firewall good CHOICE emisisoft now owns that firewall. or get it all combined emisisoft internet security pack AS they call it,http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/internetsecurity/ but nortons good, its firewall a little shaky at times. kaspersky internet suite is another good one. there are reports available in PDF file form at http://www.av-comparatives.org/index.php other testing of note at,http://malwareresearchgroup.com/ amil the only thing to remember is none are really bullet proof. in my daily day of business it is the user of the computer that needs to make the right choices and nobodies perfect there either. please stick with one av and let it do its job use secondary layersof defense. if your using Anvisoft thats a good start. Layering as security precautions are advised. using second opinion scanners is a must nowadays. Malwarebytes free and Hitman pro is affordable and with a couple of teams of malware analysts on your side its a win.win situation. i cannot emphasize enough anyone who is going to just surf like their blindfolded and clic on downloads with reckless abandon and likes to play russian roulette with a fully loaded gun using keygens craks going to porn sites , pirated sites etc .it does not matter what you have in your pc to defend it.
